Termites are a soil based insects. Four spices of Termites are Dampwood, Drywood, Subterranean termites.
Main food is cellulose which is found in wood, leather, paper and cloth which get damaged once termites enter them. Also they damage electrical wires, cellulosic materials, plastic, rubber which are seen in building premises.
Workers and soldiers live approximately one to two years. A well cared-for termite queen can live for up to 35 years in ideal conditions.
A termite queen will produce one egg every three seconds, averaging about 30,000 eggs PER DAY. That's 10,950,000 eggs per year.
Females are fully in control of both sexual and asexual reproduction. The size of the termites’ queen is around 3 to 8 inches long
Members of the soldier are light brown in colour. Their job is to protect the nests.
The worker are white in colour. They maintain, repair the nest, garther food and water. Then they construct new tunnels as the colony grows.
The treatment is done by drilling at the junction of wall and surface then chemical is poured in the holes, and holes are sealed with white cement. We try to create a chemical barrier around the surrounding of the premises with the purpose to eliminate the termite colony. The chemical has a mild smell but no side effects.
The drilling is done at 1 to 1&1/2 foot each with the purpose to create a chemical barrier.
The depth of the hole would vary from 4 to 6 inches and the size of the hole would vary from 8mm to 10mm after inspection.
On each hole, we try to pour chemical around 200 to 250ml so that it spread across the surface of the premises
As per ISI (Indians Standards Institutes) specifications, there are three steps to follow while do insecticides treatment for whit-ants in post construction treatments which are as follows
